About a week ago, I used PowerShell to ensure that my own Microsoft 365 tenant continues to allow EWS after October 1. This will keep EWS active until it's shut down in April. Apple has said that they will add support for Microsoft Graph soon. They just haven't said when. I am hoping that they don't just add the support to macOS 27. They should also add it to at least the last three macOS versions before it, macOS Tahoe, macOS Sequoia, and macOS Sonoma. I know people who have older Macs that are in great working condition, but they don't support the newer operating systems. While an M2 Max MacBook Pro is my primary Mac, I still own a mid-2019 Intel Core i9 equipped MacBook Pro that is in pristine condition. It can't run anything newer than macOS Sequoia. iOS and iPadOS have never used EWS. They connect and sync using Exchange ActiveSync. iOS and iPadOS will continue working with Microsoft 365. It's great that Apple's Mail, Contacts, Calendar, and Notes apps have all worked with Exchange since 2009. I loathe Outlook for Mac. Having level 1 autism, I'm one of those people with a visual or cognitive load sensitivity.

At their core, iOS, iPadOS, and macOS are the SAME OS, so there is no reason why Apple should support newer standards on the mobile operating systems but not macOS. Here, Apple mentions the an upcoming update for macOS 27 will support Microsoft Graph, but what is conspicuously missing is support being added to older macOS versions.

I am very annoyed about this. I am a long-time Mac user. I am a very happy Microsoft 365 customer. I am disappointed that Apple sat on this for so long. Maybe if they had pulled some of the engineers off of Liquid Glass, they could have put them to work on adding support for Microsoft Graph. We should all start sending emails en masse to Apple's leadership to show them how angry we are. I have four emails from Steve Jobs that I will never delete. Tim Cook doesn't think customers are important enough to respond to.
